A door rosette is a cover plate over the door lock in a smaller version (than the door plate ).

The door rosette is usually circular. A distinction is made between door handle rosettes and key rosettes.

With regard to their perforation, the key (hole) rosettes are divided into those with keyed perforations and those with profile cylinder perforations (PZ perforations). The latter are also manufactured in accordance with DIN 18257 as protective or security rosettes (screwing from the inside with high-tensile screws), with or without cylinder cover (ZA), in round (usually for wooden doors) and oval (for tubular frame doors) design. A bevel of the security rosette is intended to cause the pliers to slip off when attempting a break-in.
