TIER.TV was founded as a digital special interest channel in 2006 by the television managers Carl. A. Claussen and Simone Debour founded. Due to the advertising and capital market crisis, broadcasting via Astra and Kabel digital was discontinued in June 2009. Since then, TIER.TV has been running as an IP and Web.TV platform on the Internet. The operating company filed for bankruptcy in December 2009, which opened in March 2010.
The Internet portal TIER.TV has been operated by Impact Medien GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, since September 2010 .
