Tadwīr

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tadwīr ( Arabic تدوير) is a term used in recitation of the Koran and denotes a medium- speed reading of the Koran (between Tartīl and Ḥadr ). This form of reading is mainly used for teaching purposes (also known by the term al-muṣḥaf al-muʿallim, the teaching text of the Koran ), as the long pauses between the verses give students the opportunity to repeat the recitation they just heard .
