Day of the Establishment of the Labor Party of Korea
The Party Foundation Day is a national holiday in North Korea . It takes place annually on October 10th . The Labor Party of Korea was founded on that day in 1945 .
Celebrations include military parades , mass dances and collective obeisances in front of the bronze figures of Kim Il-sung erected in several North Korean cities , such as the Mansudae monument . Torch-lit marches with several thousand children on Kim Il-sung Square are also a tradition. These have already been rehearsed for six hours a day at various Pyongyang squares months beforehand .
