content

The novella is about an older doctor who falls in love with the 13-year-old Russian cellist Tatiana at a concert . When she collapses after the concert due to a fit of weakness, he is called to her, can save her and is her companion from then on. At first it is not entirely clear whether she loves him too, but over time a relationship develops that ends with Tatjana's untimely death. The novella tells the love story from the doctor's point of view many years after Tatyana's death.
