Immersion sleeve

Immersion sleeve (above the scale) with a temperature sensor was used for measuring the flue gas temperature

An immersion sleeve or screw-in sleeve is a metal sleeve with a thread attached on one side, which is used to bring temperature sensors such as a PT100 into thermal contact with a medium without the sensor housing itself coming into contact with the medium. Furthermore, the sensor in the immersion sleeve can easily be exchanged without the measured medium being impaired for the exchange. With immersion sleeves of different lengths, the temperature can be determined in the middle of the medium to be measured, in contrast to a contact sensor.

Application example

In heat meters for heating , an immersion sleeve is usually used for the flow temperature sensor so that the heat meter with a permanently connected temperature sensor can be easily replaced at the end of the calibration period.
