Teaming

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In computer science, teaming is a logical network card ( NIC ) that combines several physical network cards into a group and thus allows network cards to be redundant . If a physical network card fails, the connection is immediately available again after an interruption without any major delay. On average, at most one ping is dropped, but mostly nothing is noticed.

This logical network card has an IP address and a DHCP configuration. A virtual MAC address is generated, so to speak, with which this logical adapter can be clearly identified.

Teaming is also called a fault tolerant facility .
