The Technical Image Press Association , TIPA for short , is an industry association of photo magazines based in Madrid . He regularly tests photography products, especially cameras, for his members. Among other things, members vote annually on what they consider to be the best photography products that have been launched on the market in the past 12 months. These products are awarded the TIPA award . The association was founded on April 16, 1991 in Paris and has 30 members from 15 different countries (as of 2018). The organization is led by a five-person board who is elected by the general assembly for four years.
