Telos Language Partner
Telos Language Partner (TLP) is a ToolBook- based network-enabled language learning application . It supports multimedia self-learning scenarios and includes authoring functions for creating and further processing self-learning materials. It also enables the uncomplicated implementation of network-supported language tests.
The didactic approach is consistently based on constructivist principles of foreign language learning.
The core of the software is a collection of multimedia learning material templates that are adapted to the requirements of prototypical language learning activities with a wide variety of communicative, lexical and grammatical characteristics. These templates are accessible in a learning mode or in an editing mode; they thus form a multimedia hub for complementary teacher and learner functions.
The software emerged in 1998 from an EU project coordinated by the Chair for Applied Linguistics of English at the University of Tübingen , has been continuously developed there since then and also includes a web converter with which the learning modules can be quickly brought online ( web-based training ). In addition, there is already a rich pool of ready-made learning modules that, like the software itself, are available to teachers and learners free of charge for non-commercial use.
Telos Language Partner is used, among other things, in the following EU-funded projects:
- Backbone - Corpora for Content & Language Integrated Learning (LLP KA2 Languages 2008–2010)
- PELLIC - Practice Enterprise for Language Learning & Intercultural Communication (LLP KA2 Languages 2009–2011)
