teltarif.de is an online telecommunications news magazine. It was founded in 1997 by the then student Kai Petzke. The occasion was the opening of the German fixed-line telephone network to other providers besides Deutsche Telekom and the resulting call-by-call business.

In addition to the original core business of informing readers about low-cost telephone tariffs as an alternative to the Deutsche Telekom offer at the time, new areas have been opened up over time .
The site offers consumer-oriented news , reviews and advice from all areas of telecommunications. The main focus is on the segments of mobile communications , cell phones / smartphones , landlines , internet , navigation and groups of people in telecommunications. In 2009 teltarif.de also took over the 0180 phone book from the former hobby operator: This list, compiled by Internet users, names the service numbers with the 0180 area code and the associated phone numbers with "normal" area codes , which means the same Remote station can usually be reached cheaper.
