A carpet stripper is a device used to loosen stuck carpets and remove carpet adhesive residue. It is an electrically motorized spatula with which the residues can be scraped off without damaging the underlying flooring layer, usually screed .

Carpet strippers are available as hand strippers for small areas and as large devices (up to 50 kilograms in weight) that are operated while standing.
