Texts: the RAF

Texts: the RAF is an anthology with texts by members of the Red Army Faction (RAF) and programmatic writings of the left-wing extremist terrorist organization . It was published in December 1977 by the "International Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners in Western Europe" (ivk), FRG section, Stuttgart.

The planning for texts: the RAF began at the end of 1976, before the terrorist attacks of the German autumn . It was planned to have the 600-page book published as a joint edition of the Association of Left Book Trade (VLB). However, despite intensive discussions at a national meeting of the VLB in May 1977, this cooperation did not materialize.

The book was published in a Swedish - RAF: texter, ISBN 91-504-0651-5 , 1st uppl. Lund: Cavefors, 1977, Svenska 520 s. - and a German-language edition - texts of the RAF, ISBN 91-504-0668-X , 1st edition Lund: Cavefors, 1977, German 600 p. - in October 1977 despite the current events and was published from December 1977 by the Swedish publisher Bo Cavefors exported to Germany. Since March 1978, the book has been confiscated by German authorities as part of the measures taken against the RAF and sympathizers . For this purpose, the Attorney General arranged a nationwide search of bookstores and law offices. Investigations into "anti-constitutional sabotage" ( §§ 88 ) and " formation of terrorist organizations " ( §129a StGB ) have been initiated against some of the recipients of the book identified in this way . Part of the edition then appeared as a camouflage under the title: Per A. Rosenberg: Kãrlek med fõrhinder. (translated: love with obstacles. ) At least two black copies of the book (in a smaller format) were made as underground writing after the ban. In 1983 the book was published in an edition that was expanded and updated primarily to include the so-called “Maipapier”, also as an underground font.
