The association was founded in 2000 to unite the manufacturers of cosmetic raw materials and to represent the collective interests of its members directly towards the responsible authorities (in particular the European Commission) and the cosmetics industry. It has around 100 members, including most of the market leaders in this branch of industry.
Membership is open to all companies and national associations that represent the cosmetics raw material industry. In addition, there is the possibility of direct membership for cosmetic raw material manufacturers from EU countries in which no corresponding national organizations exist.
