The Mathematical Gazette

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mathematical Gazette is a mathematics journal published three times a year by the UK Mathematical Association and (from 2015) by Cambridge University Press . It has a focus on entertainment mathematics and mathematics education and is aimed not only at teachers and students but also at a wider audience. It wants to arouse interest in mathematical questions and arithmetic problems in an attractive way and regularly has a section with mathematical problems.

The Mathematical Gazette was founded by mathematician Edward Mann Langley in 1894 as the successor to the Reports of the Association for the Improvement of Geometrical Teaching periodical . As Langley's successor, William John Greenstreet was editor of the magazine for more than thirty years from 1897 to 1930. Gerry Leversha has held this position since 2000.
