The Observatory (magazine)

The Observatory is an English magazine about astronomy that are regularly published since 1887, currently every two months.

Although it is not published by the Royal Astronomical Society , reports of their meetings are published in it. In addition, extensive book reviews and a "Here and There" section are published, which is a collection of typographical errors of astronomical concern.

Founder and first editor (1877-1882) was William Christie , at the time first assistant of the Royal Observatory and later Astronomer Royal .
