The Overtones are a British e doo-wop - boy band from London . The current group members are Mike Crawshaw, Darren Everest, Mark Franks and Jay James. Singer Timmy Matley died in April 2018 at the age of 36. Lockie Chapman left the band at her own request in May 2019.

history

The original four members had performed a mix of doo-wop music from the 1950s mixed with modern pop music and contemporary R&B before they were discovered . They later took on Lachie Chapman, who shared their musical tastes. Based on an idea from Darren Everest, the five then started a painting and decorating company so they could practice together during their breaks. They were discovered by a talent scout while they were singing while decorating a shop in London while they were working on a break.

The group received a multiple album contract with Warner Bros. Records . Her debut album, The Good Ol 'Fashioned Love , features pieces written by the members, including her first single, Gambling Man and Say What I Feel . It rose in November 2010 at number 16 in the UK album charts one, but after the re-release of the album in March 2011, it reached No. 4. The group was in the UK known public through a series of performances, such as the opening act for Peter Andre and on the Saturday Night Show on British television. In Germany, a spot for the TV station RTL Nitro raised the group's profile.

After the death of Timmy Matley, Chapman left the band, his last concert with The Overtones took place on May 4, 2019. Just a few weeks later it was announced that Jay James had been accepted as a new band member.
