The WLS Rangers were an American country band that were well-known stars of the WLS National Barn Dances between 1935 and 1947 .
Career
The WSL Rangers were founded around 1935 by Merton Minnich, Clyde Moffet, Osgood Westley, Leo Story and Walter Tuite. In addition to the weekly Saturday evening shows of the National Barn Dance, the Rangers also appeared on other WLS radio programs. During the show's most successful years, the group rose to prominence across the state of Illinois . The WLS Rangers performed successfully until 1947, after which their popularity declined. In addition, the band was characterized by various line-up changes in the 1940s, which often did not last long.
