Thermal lifting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Thermalifting (also Thermage called) uses a radio frequency (RF) technology, which under the name ThermaCool was patented. With the help of these high-frequency radio waves , the skin is supposed to be tightened. Scars , wrinkles, and acne can also be treated. Thermal lifting is used on all skin types . The application takes place without surgical intervention, an anesthetic is not necessary. The skin is only numbed with a cream 1.5 hours beforehand. The heating of the tissue stimulates the collagen formation in the body, the existing collagen should become firmer. It is claimed that sagging or wrinkled skin is replaced with smoother, firmer skin. From a physical point of view, heat damage is set that leads to more or less controlled scarring. Dangerous burns are possible.

The technology has been approved by the US FDA ( Food and Drug Administration ) for the non-invasive treatment of facial wrinkles and signs of aging, but that says little about the success and risks of the method.
