Third Force Party

The Third Force Party ( TFP ) was a political party in Ghana .

It was founded in the third republic of Ghana in 1979 by John Bilson as the third force between the then existing two political camps around the former Prime Minister of Ghana (1969 to 1972) Kofi Abrefa Busia and the supporters of the first president and socialist Kwame Nkrumah .

In the presidential elections on June 18, 1979, the chairman of TFP Bilson won 2.8 percent of the vote (about 49,104 votes) as a presidential candidate and was thus defeated by the later President Hilla Limann .
