Tiberius Claudius Valerius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tiberius Claudius Valerius was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

Based on an incompletely preserved inscription, which is dated 131/170, it is assumed that Valerius was prefect of a Cohors Dalmatarum .

Remarks

  1. The cognomen is given differently; the EDCS is Valerius , which EDH contrast Victorinus .
  2. John Spaul assigns Valerius to the Cohors I Dalmatarum . The reading of the EDCS is [praef (ecto) co] h (ortis) [I (?)] Dalma [t (arum)] ; the EDH reading is completely different.
