Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences

The Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences ( Chinese  西藏自治区 社会 科学院 , Pinyin Xizang Zizhiqu Shehui Kexuyuan , English Tibet (an) Academy of Social Sciences; abbreviation TASS  - "Academy of Social Sciences of the Tibetan Autonomous Region", short: 西藏 会 科院 , Xizang Shekeyuan ) is an organization founded in August 1985 dedicated to the study of Tibetan culture. It is the largest research institute in Tibetology in Tibet. It is affiliated with the publishing house Xizang Zangwen guji chubanshe ( 西藏 藏文 古籍 出版社 ) for old books in the Tibetan language.
