Ink pouch

As ink bag is at cephalopods an organ in which the "ink" referred to is stored. The ink can be ejected through a funnel if the animal feels threatened. The squid can escape to safety behind a colored cloud of water.

In exceptional cases, ink bags have also been handed down in fossil form . The brown writing ink ( sepia ) is named after the ink of the cephalopod of the same name.
