Tokeh (vehicle)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tokeh is a study of a military, light, tactical emergency vehicle from Rheinmetall Defense . The vehicle is currently a feasibility study and was presented in 2006. “ Tokeh ”, the name of the feasibility study, is derived from a type of gecko .

The vehicle can transport two men, a driver and a commander / passenger. With a total weight of 2.4 t, the Tokeh can be air-loaded with an NH90 or CH-53 transport helicopter. The vehicle has good off-road mobility and all-wheel drive. A 2.3-liter diesel engine that meets the Euro III standard with 85.5 kW is to be used as the engine. As standard, the vehicle is unarmoured and has no fixed roof, just a tarpaulin. Optionally, the vehicle can be equipped with limited protection against ballistic weapons (5.56 mm to 7.62 mm) and with partial protection against hand grenades. A machine gun can be mounted as armament for the passenger or as a rear mount.

The structure and intended use of the Tokeh similar to that currently in the German Bundeswehr used Wolf and should these, in the opinion of Rheinmetall, probably replace.
