Tompong

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tompong , also known as tampong , was a unit of mass ( measure of weight) in Sumatra . The measure was taken as the benzoin weight , which indicates the exclusive product. Benzoin is a rubbery tree resin from the various benzoin trees found on Sumatra. The second term tampong should not be confused with the tampang, which is dependent on the tin size (see Kip ). Tampong was a coin.
