Audio frequency transmission system

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tone frequency transmission system ( TUS ) is used to automatically forward alarm messages to the respective alarm center . It was created back in the 1970s, but is still used today.

All that is required is an analog or ISDN telephone connection. It is used, for example, to connect burglar alarm systems directly with the police or fire alarm systems with the fire brigade .

An alarm is transmitted over the telephone line regardless of whether the line is free or busy. In addition, a permanent check of the lines is guaranteed, which is an additional advantage for the telephone customer.

In Austria, the authority of a company or an institution can prescribe a TUS connection as part of the approval process.

The technology has changed today. Since the term TUS is common within the fire service, it stands for telemetry and security today
