Total Productive Management

Total Productive Management ( TPM ) is a concept from quality management and has its origins in Total Productive Maintenance . The overarching goals are to increase the overall system effectiveness , minimize losses, integrate employees and avoid “duplication of work”.

In summary, TPM aims to optimize system efficiency and primarily protect against unplanned outages.

As TPM is becoming more and more important due to increasing automation, this improvement program is being further refined and is increasingly being used.
