Transparent motor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A transparent engine is an internal combustion engine specially manufactured for research purposes .

This is essentially a commercially available internal combustion engine, which, however, thanks to considerable structural changes, offers the possibility of using optical measurement techniques to monitor internal engine processes such as e.g. B. to analyze the movement of the charge or the combustion. When it comes to structural changes, these are primarily optical accesses, for example into the combustion chamber, through special windows.
