Trevor N. Dupuy

Trevor Nevitt Dupuy , DSO (* 3. May 1916 in New York City ; † 5. June 1995 in Vienna (Virginia) ) was an American colonel ( English Colonel ) and military historian .

Life

origin

Dupuy's parents were military historians R. Ernest Dupuy and Laura Nevitt.

Career

Dupuy attended the Military Academy at West Point , New York , in 1938 . He served as an officer in the Burma campaign during World War II . As a highly decorated officer, Dupuy moved to the United States Department of Defense at the end of the war . He later taught at Harvard University and Ohio State University (OSU).

family

Dupuy has been married five times and has nine children. His grave is in the Arlington National Cemetery ( English Arlington National Cemetery ).
