Triple-A (baseball)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The triple A (AAA) in baseball is the highest class of US minor league baseball (MiLB).

It forms the 2nd division below Major League Baseball (MLB) and consists of the three leagues International League , Pacific Coast League and Mexican League . The teams of the International League and the Pacific Coast League are each assigned to a major league team. They are very often located in large cities without a major league club.

Once a year the Triple-A All-Star Game takes place between players from the International League and the Pacific Coast League. The winners of these two teams will also play the Triple-A Baseball National Championship Game .
