Troféu challenge award
Troféu Challenge Prize - was the first competition between football clubs in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre . The tournament was sponsored by the Brazilian Bank for Germany ( Portuguese Banco Alemão ) .
It was played only between the two oldest clubs in the city, which happened to be founded on the same day by German-Brazilians : Soccer Club Porto Alegre and Grêmio Porto Alegre . Originally the tournament was held every 6 months, from 1907 it was held annually. After three consecutive victories, Gremio Porto Alegre could finally keep the trophy in 1912.
