Tropical cyclone Arthur
The name Arthur has so far been used for five tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean, none of which developed into hurricanes:
- Tropical Storm Arthur (1984) , which passed over Newfoundland as an extra-opian storm without damage;
- Tropical Storm Arthur (1990) , formed in the Caribbean, almost reached hurricane strength and dissolved;
- Tropical Storm Arthur (1996) , struck North Carolina as a weak tropical storm;
- Tropical Storm Arthur (2002) , a weak tropical storm that had no material impact on land;
- Tropical Storm Arthur (2008) , tropical storm that formed quickly before sweeping across the land on May 31st.
Arthur has been used once for a tropical cyclone in the southern hemisphere:
- Cyclone Arthur (2007) , which briefly threatened the Cook Islands in late January 2007.
