Truss (unit)

Truss was an English piece measure and means union. After this measure, straw and hay were prepared for sale. The sale took place after the load , and that was 36 trusses / bundles. A load of new hay before September 4th was 1 tun or 20 hundredweight , after that only 18 hundredweight.

  • Straw 1 truss = 1 bunch of 36 pounds
  • Hay, old 1 truss = 1 bunch of 56 pounds
  • Hay, fresh 1 truss = 1 bunch of 60 pounds (valid until September 4th)
