Czechoslovak-Soviet Treaties

The Czechoslovak-Soviet Treaties ( Czech Československo-sovĕtská smlouva ) are several agreements from the period 1922 to 1990 between the Czechoslovak Republic and the USSR . The assistance agreement of 1935 came about within the framework of the Franco-Soviet agreement of May 2, 1935, which had been concluded 14 days earlier .

The individual Czechoslovak-Soviet treaties are:

  • two provisional treaties of February 5, 1922 and June 5, 1922 on "administrative" matters
  • April 1935 - trade agreement
  • May 16, 1935 - assistance contract
  • Agreement of July 18, 1941 on the resumption of diplomatic relations, on post-war cooperation and on and the establishment of Czechoslovak army units in the Soviet Union
  • December 12, 1943 - Treaty of friendship, mutual aid and cooperation after the war
  • Treaty of May 8, 1944 on Cooperation in the Liberated Territory of Czechoslovakia
  • Treaty of June 29, 1945 on the surrender and integration of what was then Carpathian Russia into the USSR
  • Treaty of August 26, 1968 sealed the end of the Prague Spring, also known as the Moscow Protocol
  • Treaty of October 16, 1968 on the provisional stationing of Soviet units
  • Friendship treaty dated May 6, 1970
  • Treaty of February 26, 1990 on the withdrawal of Soviet units from Czechoslovakia and on future relations
