UN Peacemaker
UN Peacemaker is a United Nations project to support international peace mediation ("Mediation Support") .
The UN-Peacemaker-Portal provides information on peace treaties and mandates for peace efforts. The project also contains a database with the legal basis for peace negotiations. In addition, UN Peacemaker offers a Peacemaker's Toolbox, field reports, case studies, operational instructions and analyzes of peace negotiations.
The information collected is based on experiences from interviews conducted with UN staff and those directly involved in peace negotiations.
The online project started in October 2006 and is part of the general efforts of the UN Department of Political Affairs (DPA) to support the UN Secretary General and his special envoy in resolving national and international conflicts.
