USS Holland

USS Holland is a ship name that the United States Navy gave several times in honor of the submarine designer John Philip Holland . The following ships of the United States Navy were given this name:

  • USS Holland (SS-1) : A submarine developed by Holland itself, which was commissioned in 1899 as the first ever submarine in the Navy.
  • USS Holland (AS-3) : A submarine tender put into service in 1926 that was used in World War II and was scrapped in 1947.
  • USS Holland (AS-32) : Another submarine tender that was in service from 1966 to 1996.
