Ulrich Wilhelm Heinrich Hermann Sahm (* 21st April 1950 in Bonn ) is a German journalist and the Middle East - a correspondent for various German media.

Life

Sahm was born as the son of the German diplomat Ulrich Sahm , his grandfather Heinrich Sahm was Lord Mayor of Berlin. He grew up in London and Paris . The family also worked in Moscow and Ankara . His family later returned to Germany and in 1968 Sahm graduated from high school in Heppenheim at the Odenwald School .

Sahm began to study Protestant theology (his mother Insea Hohlt was abbess of the Protestant monastery Mariensee ), Jewish studies and linguistics in Germany. In 1970 he began studying Hebrew literature at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem .

Today Sahm works as a Middle East correspondent for the Austria Press Agency , Badische Latest Nachrichten , Luxemburger Wort , Fokus Jerusalem , Audiatur-Stiftung, Honestly Concerned eV and Israelnetz . He used to write for the Axis des Guten , the news channel n-tv , the Weser Kurier , the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , the Neue Ruhr Zeitung , the Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung . Sporadically he still reports for Radio 1 (Switzerland) and the domradio in Cologne directly from Jerusalem about the events in Israel.

Sahm is divorced twice and lives in Israel.
