The transition point is a term from analytical chemistry . In the case of titrations , the change point is a color change that indicates the equivalence point. For acid-base titrations , this depends on the choice of indicator . In the case of redox titrations , this can be done using redox indicators or by means of a self-indication in which the colored standard solution is decolorized as long as the substance can be converted.
