The Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo ( UNACH ) is a public university in Riobamba , Chimborazo Province , Ecuador .
As early as 1969, the establishment of a university was discussed and a campus for the faculties of philosophy, literature and education was initiated with a branch of the Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE). When Leonidas Proaño , Roman Catholic Bishop of Riobamba, transferred the buildings of the “La Dolorosa” seminary to the UCE, the Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo was founded on August 31, 1995.
It offers its students 26 university degrees and numerous certificates from the following faculties
