The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB / TSC) was a public state university in Brownsville, Texas from 1991 to 2011 .

history

In 1991, the two universities of Texas-Pan American at Brownsville ( UTPAB ) and Texas Southmost College ( TSC ) merged to form the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College ( UTB / TSC ).

The UTB / TSC had about 10,000 students and was part of the University of Texas system . The UTB / TSC was dissolved again in 2011 when it was split into the two independent parts University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) and Texas Southmost College ( TSC ).

The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) merged in 2015 with the University of Texas – Pan American (UTPA) to form the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV).

Sports

The UTB / TSC sports teams were called Scorpions or Ocelots. The UTB / TSC was a member of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC).
