Uroflowmetry

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under Uroflowmetry refers to the measurement of the Harnstrahlvolumens per time period (z. B. ml / s). Performing this test is very simple: a patient who has an urge to urinate is asked to urinate into a funnel . A sensor unit records how much urine he is micting per period of time. The normal urine flow rate is at least 20 ml / s. Decreased values can occur with an obstructed urine flow from the bladder or a weak bladder muscle. The result of uroflowmetry is only meaningful if the amount of urine exceeds 150 ml.
