The Association of German Weather Service Providers V. ( VDW ) represents the political and economic interests of privately organized weather services in Germany .

The association based in Berlin was founded in 2002. This was preceded by hearings at the Ministry of Transport . The private weather services then decided to found their own association to bundle their interest groups. The spectrum of represented companies ranges from sole proprietorships who only operate regionally or in a special economic sector to international full-service providers.

Since both the weather, the data transfer and the market organization do not have to be regulated nationally alone, the members of the VDW are also members of the European Association of Private Meteorological Services (PRIMET).

As of October 2017, the association had a total of 17 members. As of March 2020 there are 12 members.
