The Council of the Kurdish Society in Austria ( FEYKOM ). The council sees itself as the umbrella organization of the Kurdish associations in Austria . 14 associations and centers from seven federal states are members of FEYKOM.

The organization

The association was formed in 1992 against the background of the intensified Turkish military offensive in the Kurdish conflict area and the intensified political mobilization of the Kurds across Europe. Associations of Kurdish migrants from all four parts of Kurdistan came together to seek a political solution to the Kurdish question.

FEYKOM aims to represent the social and cultural interests and representation of Kurdish migrants in Austria.

For this reason, the association has set itself the goal of promoting Kurdish culture, language and traditions. The activities in the sense of the political representation of the rights of the Kurdish minority were primarily aimed at recognition as political representation for Kurdish affairs (up to a quasi- diplomatic status ) at the European level.

According to the Austrian Office for the Protection of the Constitution, FEYKOM is close to the PKK .
