Prohibited recordings

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Forbidden recordings (French original title: Les Documents interdits ) is a short film series by the French director Jean-Teddy Filippe .

The total of thirteen films, between 4 and 13 minutes in length, are in the style of amateur recordings and all deal with puzzling, astonishing or inexplicable phenomena and things, for example people with supernatural abilities. The films were made in 1989 and are fictional, but are intended to give the impression that they are real, collected amateur recordings, with documentary and dramatic commentary by a speaker. A wide variety of time periods are processed, for example the 1940s and 1980s.

It was first broadcast on German television by the broadcaster arte . Since some of the short films cannot be recognized as obvious fakes, not a few people consider them to be real, which was also the intention of the director.
