Verdure (from French vert: green ) is the name for tapestries from the 15th to 18th centuries . Century, whose motifs mainly consist of plants in green tones. Depictions of landscapes or animals, especially birds, were also very popular during this period. A motif consisting of large overlapping leaves is called a feuille de chou .
