The Hamburger Spediteure e. V. (VHSp) was founded in the Hanseatic city in 1884 and has around 350 members.
“The VHSp is organizationally integrated into the national freight forwarding associations. The Hamburg freight forwarders can influence decisions in Bonn and Brussels via the German Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association (DSLV) in Berlin and the European Liaison Committee for the Forwarding and Storage Industry (CLECAT). In addition, Hamburg forwarding agents work on committees of the world freight forwarders association FIATA and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris. In the Committee of German Seaport Freight Forwarders, the common interests of the German seaport freight forwarding company are looked after. "
Association purpose
“The VHSp represents the interests of the Hamburg freight forwarders vis-à-vis the local administration. He assists the authorities in an advisory capacity and ensures that laws and other regulations in matters of road haulage, ports, environmental law, regional customs regulations, taxes and police orders adequately take into account the needs of the freight forwarding industry. The VHSp is represented in all committees of the local Chamber of Commerce relevant to the freight forwarding industry. "
membership
Membership is voluntary. Any innocent shipping company that has its headquarters in Hamburg and is registered in the commercial register can become a member. The board of directors can allow exceptions to the entry in the commercial register.
