Traffic medicine

The Traffic Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with diseases and disabilities that lead to impaired driving ability. Furthermore, reduced fitness for participation in road traffic caused by medication or other drugs belong to the scope of duties.

The assessment of fitness to drive is also part of traffic medicine. The medical-psychological examination (MPU) aims at a kind of "TÜV for the driver". It is mainly at higher scores in Flensburg Register (especially after loss of license) as well as in connection with traffic offenses under alcohol and other drugs arranged.
