Engagement announcement means the written announcement of an engagement. In Western Christian cultures, the engagement is traditionally indicated by the parents. In most cases, a folded card is printed from the inside, with the bride's parents on the left and the groom's parents on the right. This procedure is now considered out of date even in conservative circles, and the engaged couple announce their engagement in their own name.
