Church of Reconciliation (2012)

The Reconciliation Church is an Evangelical Lutheran church building in Dornach in the St. Magdalena district of Linz .

history

The church with a community center was built from 1996 to 1997 according to the plans of the architect Roland Rainer . The two buildings in exposed brick masonry with flat roofs are one to two-storey and asymmetrically structured and are connected by a corridor as a glass-steel construction. The rectangular church building is accentuated and exaggerated by a tower-like, delicate looking glass and steel construction, which supplies the altar area with light and lifts it out via a light shaft. In some cases, old building materials (bricks) were used in a programmatic-ecological sense, but also natural building materials such as concrete and wood. Inside, the flat ceiling rests on steel beams. The painter and mosaic artist Jindřich Vydra created an ornamental mosaic in 1998 . Raimar Galter built the single-manual organ with nine registers from 1998 to 1999 for the German organ builder Link .
