A rotating pack ( shipping tube , shipping tube , shipping roll , also flat roll ) is a stable, cylindrical packaging that usually consists of an outer part and an inner part that is slightly smaller in diameter and can be combined using a screw mechanism.

When closed, the length can be selected variably, depending on the adjustment range and how far its screw cap (outer part) is screwed on or pushed on. As a result, the length of the packaging is adapted to the length of the item stored therein.

As a rule, twist packs are made of plastic, are very simple (inexpensive) and are first used as sales and then transport packaging e.g. B. elongated objects are used ( e.g. eyepieces and large drills are usually sold and stored in twist packs).

In contrast to other containers with screw caps, twist packs are quick to close and open, as the lid can be pushed on or removed with little effort without turning it. Accordingly, twist packs are more suitable for protection than as a carrying aid. Depending on the design of the thread turns, careless picking up can cause the sleeve to open and the contents to slip out.

Similar to rotary packs, there are other cylindrical packaging tubes such as B. Thread packs and telepacks . There are also rectangular / square shapes such as B.
