Deceased

A deceased is a person from the time of his death until the expiry of his post-mortem protection of privacy . The memory of the deceased is criminally protected from denigration ( Section 189 of the Criminal Code ). After a burial or a lifeless missing person has been found, one speaks (also) of a dead person. The term deceased must be distinguished from the term corpse , which only describes the body .
